(3BL Media / theCSRfeed) San Francisco, CA - March 7, 2011 - Climate Counts, a leading non-profit which scores companies on their commitment to addressing climate change, and blissmo, a leading provider of organic and eco-friendly deals on blissmo.com and Care2.com have partnered in support of Climate Counts’ Industry Innovators (i2) program.  This partnership allows Climate Counts and blissmo to incentivize the efforts of participating i2 member companies that are dedicated to aggressively confronting the climate crisis.

“It’s important to spread the word about which companies are really stepping up to the climate challenge,” said Climate Counts Executive Director Wood Turner. “There is so much fake green action that we need partnerships like this to help climate conscious consumers cut through the noise.”

“The alignment of our respective missions made a partnership a relative ‘no-brainer’ as we’re both working to improve the corporate response to climate change,” said Sundeep Ahuja, Founder and CEO of blissmo. “By rewarding i2 member companies with special access to a massive community of green minded shoppers on blissmo and Care2, we demonstrate that corporate sustainability can improve the bottom line not only with cost savings but also with higher revenue.”

Climate Counts’ i2 program was launched in 2010 with six forward-thinking charter companies – Amtrak, Ben & Jerry’s, Clif Bar, REI, Shaklee, and Timberland – and will announce new members later this year. The collaboration between Climate Counts and blissmo aims to encourage like-minded corporations to follow suit, and to benefit environmentally minded shoppers by introducing them to more sustainable options at a discount.
