Climate Ride California Raises Over $275,000
(3BL Media / theCSRfeed) October 14, 2011 - Climate Ride California, a 5-day “green conference on wheels” raised over $275,000 for organizations committed to helping the planet. Climate Counts had four cyclists represented on the ride and was one of more than 30 beneficiaries. Other organizations benefiting from the event included 350.org, Natural Resources Defense Council and the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition along with other groups focused on clean energy, climate education and cycling advocacy.
Climate Ride is in its fourth year, but this was the first year that participants could choose to direct their fundraising to a specific organization. There were 124 bicyclists who participated in the event, with cyclists covering over 300 miles through northern California –beginning in Eureka and ending at City Hall in San Francisco on October 6th.
