The Vermont Foodbank has launched a “do nothing about hunger” cause campaign. Cans of “nothing”, 14,000 empty cans with slots for collections, will be sold for $2.99 each at all Vermont Hannaford supermarkets. Proceeds from the sale of each can benefit the Foodbank, and will help provide 18 nourishing meals for a family in need. The campaign began last week and continues through September.
The Social and Economic Council of the Netherlands has issued a Statement on International Corporate Responsibility. The paper describes the current status of CSR among Dutch business. Based on the Declaration on International CSR published in 2008, the report provides basic principles for companies to follow responsible supply chain practices. The Council’s Statement includes guidelines and recommendations from the International Labor Organization, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, and the International Code Council.
