Hello, I’m Emily Polk, and these are your CSR Minute headlines for Thursday, September 23rd:

Kimball Office has received a Communitas Award for Excellence in Community Service. Kimball Office was recognized for its “40 Trees in 40 Cities” initiative, which planted more than 1,600 trees this spring in cities across the country, including San Francisco, Dallas Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Atlanta, and Chicago. The effort was planned to honor the 40th anniversaries of the company and of Earth Day.

Business for Social Responsibility has launched its CiYuan—the China Philanthropy Incubator—initiative. The project brings together influential Chinese and international representatives of the business, nonprofit, foundation, and government communities to advance social investment in China. Initially, the focus will be on enhancing corporate–NGO partnerships. The full-day launch event, held in Beijing, included a CiYuan board meeting, a workshop series on social investment in China, and the posting of the CiYuan Website.
