Tampa, Fla., November 20, 2016 /3BL Media/ -- The National Diversity Council will offer the DiversityFIRST™ Certification Program at The University of Tampa December 5 through 9. The program prepares qualified business professionals to create and implement highly successful D&I strategies for organizational excellence and a competitive edge in today’s global business marketplace.

“The launch of our certification program last year was an overwhelming success, bringing various business professionals and academics together to share diversity best practices, collaborate in group projects, and discuss the importance of inclusive leadership in the 21st century,” said Dennis Kennedy, founder and chairman of the National Diversity Council. “This year, we are thrilled to partner with The University of Tampa and Sodexo to build on this success and offer our program in Florida.”

With a highly qualified team of facilitators, the DiversityFIRST™ Certification Program blends theory and practice during a 5-day intensive program teaching the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Topics such as measurement and accountability, inclusive leadership, and cultural competence equip participants with the knowledge required to implement effective diversity initiatives within their own organizations. After successfully completing the course, group project, and exam, participants are recognized as National Diversity Council Certified Diversity Professionals (NDCCDP).

“I look forward to partnering with the National Diversity Council to host the DiversityFIRST™ Certification at the University of Tampa,” said Stephanie Russell Krebs, Dean of Students at The University of Tampa. “Hosting this program is congruent with our institutional values and, as a university, we are committed to fostering diverse and inclusive learning environments so our students can thrive.”
