Edward Jones Moves Up Ranks Among FORTUNE 500 for Eighth Consecutive Year
St. Louis, May 25, 2020 /3BL Media/ —Financial services firm Edward Jones moved up 20 spots on the FORTUNE 500 for its eighth consecutive appearance on the annual list, which is published by FORTUNE magazine.
FORTUNE magazine ranks the largest U.S. companies by revenue. Edward Jones moved up 20 spots to No. 336, with more than $9.5 billion in net revenue for 2019, an increase of 10.8 percent year-over-year.
"This is truly an honor to be recognized among our nation's top 500 companies, an achievement that is only possible because of the personal relationships we have built with our clients," said Edward Jones Managing Partner Penny Pennington. "Our growth is having an impact – 49,000 associates seeking to improve the lives of our 7 million clients, their families and our communities."
Pennington is one of the 37 female CEOs of FORTUNE 500 companies – a record-breaking number this year – featured in a story accompanying the list.
Now in her 18th month as managing partner, Pennington was recently named No. 45 in her first appearance on the FORTUNE Most Powerful Women in Business list. She is an active member of the St. Louis community, serving on the boards of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, United Way of Greater St. Louis, the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center, the Whitaker Foundation, Shakespeare Festival St. Louis, and Saint Louis Fashion Fund. She also actively champions Edward Jones’ national presenting sponsorship with the Alzheimer’s Association and is a board member for Catalyst.
In a recent broadcast to associates, Pennington said, "The work we do is meaningful – and our ability to serve clients and make a difference in their lives is what drives us. And when we do that well, we share the rewards of those important efforts with the men and women who do the hard work – our client team. The work we do today sets us up for success in the future. We know branch teams and home office associates are working incredibly hard to serve clients during this time of continued uncertainty and market volatility."
