March 9, 2021 /3BL Media/ - Goodyear’s Airship Operations organization recently received Stage 1, the first level IS-BAO certification from the International Business Aviation Council. IS-BAO, which stands for the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations, is the industry’s globally recognized code of best practices to ensure flight departments worldwide achieve high levels of safety and professionalism.

Stage 1 indicates that an appropriate Safety Management System has been established within the organization. The formal certification process is completed in three stages over many years for full adaptation within the organization. The FAA in the U.S., CAA in Canada and European Committee for Standardization recognize IS-BAO as an industry standard for business aircraft operations.

More than 1,000 business aircraft operators, large and small, in the U.S. and around the world have reached Stage 1, 2, and 3 IS-BAO registration since 2002. These numbers continue to grow as more flight departments and operators see value in not only managing a safe aviation environment but empowering the entire organization to be involved in a safety culture.

Goodyear’s Flight Operations department is one of the organizations that has completed all three levels of IS-BAO certification.
