Grid Takes Earth Day Digital with Second Annual #GridGoesGreen Sweepstakes

WALTHAM, Mass., April 21, 2016/ 3BL Media/ – Leveraging the power of social media to promote Earth Day, National Grid will launch its second annual Pledge to Save Energy Sweepstakes tomorrow, challenging the nearly 7 million U.S. residents in its service areas to take a pledge to make greener choices and share them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, with #GridGoesGreen #Sweeps.

The Sweepstakes will begin at 12:00:01 pm ET on April 22, 2016 and ends at 11:59:59 pm ET on May 31, 2016. One Grand Prize winner will be randomly drawn on June 1, 2016 and receive a prize for the winner to continue supporting their sustainable energy efforts and for the green charity of their choice. National Grid customers in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New York are eligible to participate.

To enter, follow National Grid on FacebookTwitter, or Instagram. Then share a photo of how you are celebrating Earth Day, raising energy conservation awareness or making sustainable choices (tagging @nationalgridus) with the hashtags #GridGoesGreen and #Sweeps. Each eligible participant is allowed one entry per social media platform, for a total of three.

National Grid continues its annual commitment to sponsoring Earth Day events, with employees volunteering in local communities to clean-up areas in need across Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New York. National Grid’s US President, Dean Seavers, also released "The Democratization of Energy" for Earth Month 2016—an eBook that discusses the ways in which we can transition our nation to a decarbonized economy while ensuring delivery of reliable and affordable energy.
