DAVIDSON, N.C., Sept. 23, 2015, /3BL Media/ – Randy Newton, vice president of Enterprise Engineering at Ingersoll Rand, a world leader in creating comfortable, sustainable and efficient environments, will join other industry experts at a roundtable hosted by the World Environment Center (WEC) on September 24.

Newton’s session, titled “Integrating Sustainability Knowledge into Business Planning and Implementation,” includes representatives from SC Johnson, WaterHealth and Harvard University. Using real-world examples, he will provide unique insight into the global need for implementing sustainability practices and techniques into business plans in emerging markets.

“To successfully integrate sustainability into emerging markets, companies must be mindful to include it across all aspects of their business. This means not only in products and services, but also in integration with their people and the culture in which they operate,” Newton said. “Recognizing the intersection between developing and selling products and services and integrating sustainability into all practices is an important first step for companies hoping to influence many of the macro trends we’re seeing across the world today.”

The one-day roundtable takes place from 8:30 a.m.-3:45 p.m. in Washington, D.C., and features guest speakers from across the globe operating in a variety of industries. WEC creates sustainable business solutions through individual projects in emerging markets, convenes leadership roundtables to shape strategic thinking across a range of sustainability topics and honors industry excellence through the annual awarding of its Gold Medal Award.
