Gaithersburg, MD, June 10, 2013 /3BL Media/ -- Sodexo, best known for providing a wide range of integrated services spanning facilities management to foodservice operations, announces the introduction of two new sustainable cleaning technologies: Hydris™ on-site generation system and Ecolab bio-based Hard Surface Cleaners which are formulated using renewable resources. These new technologies support Sodexo’s Better Tomorrow Plan commitment to source sustainable supplies and expand the choices for cleaning products and protocols they will offer customers.

Ecolab Hydris technology uses a mineral solution and electrically activated water to clean and disinfect most surfaces. It has proven effective, easy-to-use and affordable in a variety of commercial settings. Sodexo is able to improve the quality of life of employees, staff and client’s customers by using a safe and sustainable product to maintain a clean environment.

“We work with Ecolab to deliver innovation to our customers for an important part of their business – maintaining clean and healthy environments. We are proud to be the first to use this new technology in the healthcare market,” said John LaRochelle, VP of Brand Management with Sodexo.

The Hydris system is for general purpose cleaning and disinfecting on a variety of surfaces, including glass and mirrors, finished floors, wood laminate furniture, painted walls, stone, metals, kohler metals, plastics and melamine surfaces. The system electrically activates a water and mineral solution to create cleaning products that replace the need for all-purpose cleaners, glass cleaners, non-food contact disinfectants and sanitizers, floor cleaners and carpet extraction cleaners.

The new bio-based Ecolab Hard Surface Cleaners – Peroxide Multi-Surface Cleaner, Glass Cleaner, Acid Bathroom Cleaner and Neutral Bathroom Cleaner – are formulated using plant derived natural resources to reduce environmental impact and help eliminate the need to wear personal protective equipment during product use. This comprehensive cleaning program includes USDA Bio-Based and Green Seal™ Certified hard surface cleaners that are easy-to-use and proven more effective than competitive products.

“Using these products, Sodexo conscientiously helps protect the hospital and its population while also protecting our natural environment. It’s the right thing to do,” added Sodexo VP John LaRochelle.
