IVECO won the Green Truck Innovation award 2019 with the Stralis NP

June 19, 2019 /3BL Media/ - IVECO’s Stralis NP has been handed the “Green Truck Innovation” award by German logistics magazine “Verkehrsrundschau”.

The magazine credited IVECO, the commercial vehicle’s brand of CNH Industrial, for leading the way in natural-gas powered technology and offering the most comprehensive range of alternative fuel transport solutions across all commercial vehicle manufacturers.

The Stralis NP stands out for its ability to support the most sustainable logistics thanks to an impressive 99 per cent reduction in particulate matter and 90 per cent in NO2 emissions compared to Euro VI standards. Plus, when running on biomethane, it reduces CO2 emissions by as much as 95 per cent.

Power comes from a 12.9-litre IVECO Cursor 13 NP single-fuel engine, driven through IVECO’s 12-speed Hi-Tronix automated transmission – a combination which offers the perfect blend of power and performance.

The driving experience is almost identical to a modern diesel truck, whilst being around 50 per cent quieter – which makes the Stralis NP perfect for urban communities, and popular with drivers. With a range of 1,600 km, the vehicle has the capability to serve all diesel destinations.

The judges were impressed with IVECO’s commitment to natural gas – a cleaner, alternative fuel that is already widely available and making a positive impact on the environment.

IVECO’s unrivalled expertise in natural gas technology and ongoing commitment to clean air has seen it win a host of major awards, including being named Large Goods Vehicle Manufacturer of the Year at the GreenFleet Awards 2018. It was also presented with the Low Emission Truck Manufacturer of the Year award at the Commercial Fleet Awards 2018, reinforcing its position as a true partner for sustainable transport.
