NEW YORK, November 13, 2020 /3BL Media/ -- The International WELL Building Institute (IWBI) is pleased to announce it is offering evidence-based education on COVID-19 to business leaders and their teams as they are preparing to get back to business. Through interactive, self-guided lessons, the training course offered by IWBI provides actionable strategies and expert recommendations to promote health and safety in and out of the workplace.

“Public health is everyone’s responsibility and we all have a role to play in keeping each other healthy and safe,” said IWBI President Rachel Gutter. “By compiling science-backed information into an accessible format for organizations, employees can be well equipped to do their part in keeping their colleagues and families safer and healthier.”

Now more than ever, organizations are seeing the impact of human health and well-being on their bottom line, while underscoring how prioritizing healthy behaviors at work can play a role in people’s daily lives. The training course addresses overarching concerns, including the science behind COVID-19 and how it is spread, guidance for managing personal safety and hygiene, strategies to protect yourself and those around you, and tips aimed at mitigating acute health risks within the work environment.

For many professionals, the training may serve as a complement to their organization’s enrollment in the WELL Health-Safety Rating. Launched in June, the WELL Health-Safety Rating is an evidence-based, third-party verified rating for all new and existing building and space types and is focused on operational policies, maintenance protocols, emergency plans and stakeholder engagement strategies to address a COVID-19 environment now and broader health and safety-related issues in the future.

IWBI is also collaborating with BetterSpaces, a workplace engagement platform to distribute the training to users of their app.

“The BetterSpaces experience—both digital and in-person—promotes well-being in all its many facets including mental, physical, emotional, and spatial. This COVID-19 Training is a natural fit for our platform. We’re excited about the partnership with IWBI and to be bringing science-backed content to our community that will help them stay safer and during the pandemic,” said BetterSpaces CEO John Lema.

While the training is self-paced, the entire course takes approximately 60 minutes to complete. To learn more about the COVID-19 Training, visit here.

About the International WELL Building Institute
The International WELL Building Institute (IWBI) is leading the global movement to transform our buildings, communities and organizations in ways that help people thrive. It focuses exclusively on the ways that buildings and communities, and everything in them, can improve our comfort, drive better choices, and generally enhance, not compromise, our health and wellness. WELL v2 is the most recent version of its popular WELL Building Standard (WELL), and the WELL Community Standard pilot is a district scale rating system that sets a new global benchmark for healthy communities. The WELL Health-Safety Rating is an evidence-based, third-party verified rating for all facility types, focused on operational policies, maintenance protocols, emergency plans and stakeholder education to address a post-COVID-19 environment now and broader health and safety-related issues into the future. IWBI mobilizes the wellness community through management of the WELL AP credential, the pursuit of applicable research, the development of educational resources, and advocacy for policies that promote health and wellness everywhere.
