PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 15, 2013 /3BL Media /PRNewswire/ -- Local CITGO Marketers Sat Raj, Inc., MSS Enterprises, LLC., Multani Enterprises, Inc., ARFA Enterprises, Inc., PennJ Petroleum, and Margas, Inc. are raising money for the Greater Philadelphia Muscular Dystrophy Association's (MDA's) "Make a Muscle, Make a Difference" campaign. More than 50 participating CITGO locations across Pennsylvania and New Jersey are selling $1 and $5 football-shaped paper mobiles through Oct. 31. All proceeds from the campaign will benefit MDA programs from Pennsylvania and Southern New Jersey to New Castle, Delaware, helping 2,500 local families.

"At MDA, we pride ourselves on being able to provide both help and hope to the families we serve. We help by offering practical services for patients and we bring hope through research to find a cure," said Carly Danielsen, executive director of the Greater Philadelphia MDA. "Although MDA is a national organization, all the money raised through the 'Make a Muscle, Make a Difference' campaign stays in the tri-state region to help families in our district. Our partnership with CITGO, a company so focused on doing good locally, really supports our mission."

The "Make a Muscle, Make a Difference," campaign is just one way that these six local CITGO Marketers are supporting MDA. These companies will also launch a holiday stocking mobile program in December to raise even more money to help families in the area who are battling neuromuscular disease.

"Providing full service to our customers in New Jersey sometimes makes it more difficult to implement certain campaigns, but we're making it easy for our consumers to support MDA. Our attendants will wear 'Make a Muscle, Make a Difference' buttons throughout the campaign to help start the conversation," said Sat-Raj, Inc. president Steve Multani. "We are always looking for avenues to give back to our community, and being a part of this program for the 2013 year is a great way to do so. Together with MDA and CITGO, we'll 'Make a Difference'." Sat-Raj, Inc. supplies 12 CITGO stations in the state of New Jersey.

The Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) raises awareness for forty-three different neuromuscular diseases by funding more than 250 research projects around the world annually, promoting public awareness, and providing individual and family support at 200 national medical clinics. With patients spanning from infancy to adulthood, MDA's practical services run the gamut from medical multidisciplinary clinics, multiple doctor visits, occupational therapists and medical equipment available on loan. CITGO is the largest corporate sponsor for MDA, raising more than $160 million over the last 27 years through the generosity of its employees and its network of Marketers and Retailers.

CITGO is committed to giving back to the local communities it serves through its network of locally owned CITGO locations.
