WALTHAM, Mass., 3BL Media/ -  – National Grid PLC has landed the number one utility spot on Newsweek's Top Green Companies in the World for the second straight year. The company ranked 27th overall, two spots higher than in 2015.

Since 2009, the Newsweek Green Rankings have been one of the world’s foremost corporate environmental rankings which assess the 500 largest publicly-traded companies in the United States and the 500 largest publicly-traded companies globally on overall environmental performance. National Grid received a green score of 73.6 percent for 2016, 2.2 percent higher than last year.
