PYXERA Global CEO Deirdre White to Moderate Panel at What Works 2019

WASHINGTON, March 26, 2019 /3BL Media/ – PYXERA Global is excited to announce our participation in the What Works 2019 conference on April 1–3 in Reykjavik, Iceland. First held in 2016, the What Works global summit is the premier forum for debating solutions that will accelerate social progress around the world. Hosted by the global nonprofit Social Progress Imperative together with The World Bank, Cognitio, and the OECD, What Works 2019 will apply data and experience from leaders to challenge and inspire approaches that drive social progress and advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

PYXERA Global CEO Deirdre White will moderate a panel and present on the case for the private sector to be involved in social impact. The panel discussion, entitled “The Business of the SDGs,” will provide participants with insight on the ways the private sector is driving impact around the SDGs. With increased public scrutiny on the behavior of corporations, the panel will examine ways businesses can thrive while making the SDGs a part of their core business.

A unique group of cross-sector leaders will join PYXERA Global CEO Deirdre White:

  • Ruma Bose Bishop, Investor, Entrepreneur, Author,
  • Kristina Kloberdanz, Chief Sustainability Officer, Mastercard,
  • Pauliina Murphy, Engagement Director, World Benchmarking Alliance, and
  • Simon Zadek, Principal, Project Catalyst, United Nations Development Programme.

The What Works 2019 conference will also present the Social Progress Index (SPI). The SPI is a powerful benchmarking tool to measure social performance by country based on 54 social and environmental indicators. Its purpose is to enhance collaboration and connect leaders and change-makers from business, government, and civil society with fresh perspectives. The event organizers anticipate the need for a coordinated approach across the board, and using the right tools and establishing benchmarking metrics is crucial for successful collaboration and progress on the SDGs.
