Trane Technologies Statement on the Ratification of the Kigali Amendment

SWORDS, Ireland, September 23, 2022 /3BL Media/ - Paul Camuti, executive vice president and chief technology and sustainability officer of Trane Technologies (NYSE: TT), a global climate innovator, issued the following statement regarding the ratification of the Kigali Amendment.

“Trane Technologies commends the United States Senate for ratifying the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol, and for taking action to end the use of hydrofluorocarbons (HFC) to help fight the negative effects of climate change. As a climate innovator, one of Trane Technologies’ top priorities in our public policy advocacy work has been the ratification of the amendment, which advances our bold 2030 sustainability commitments including our Gigaton Challenge to reduce our customers’ carbon emissions by one gigaton.

We were proud to work with key trade groups such as the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute and the Alliance for Responsible Atmospheric Policy, along with members of the United States Senate to support this monumental effort to combat global warming. The approval of the amendment is also expected to help create approximately 33,000 U.S. jobs, stimulate $12.5 billion in new investment in the U.S. economy, and boost U.S. exports of HVAC technology by 25%, through continued innovation and manufacturing of next-generation heating, cooling, and refrigeration solutions.”
