Truist Foundation Commits $150,000 for Tropical Storm Nicole Relief
CHARLOTTE, N.C., Nov. 9, 2022 /3BL Media/ - Truist Foundation today announced it will donate $150,000 to support relief and recovery efforts for communities impacted by Tropical Storm Nicole, including $100,000 in Florida and $50,000 in the Bahamas.
“Storms continue to threaten our Florida teammates and clients, with many communities still rebuilding from the impact of Hurricane Ian and now bracing for the anticipated impact of Tropical Storm Nicole,” said Lynette Bell, president of Truist Foundation. “Truist Foundation is proud to lead the way, living out Truist’s purpose of inspiring and building better lives and communities, by proactively providing financial support to ensure those affected by this storm have the resources needed readily available.”
A portion of the donation will be focused on medium- and long-term community recovery and address needs such as rebuilding homes and livelihoods, mental health services and other challenges identified by communities that arise as recovery efforts progress.
Earlier this year, Truist Foundation donated $1 million to the American Red Cross Annual Disaster Giving Program, designed to deploy assistance quickly to communities impacted by events such as Tropical Storm Nicole. Those funds will help provide food, shelter, comfort kits and other relief supplies to thousands of families and individuals impacted by the storm.

"While it’s unclear what the full extent of damage Tropical Storm Nicole will bring, we recognize that the need will be significant. Truist Foundation’s donation will help ensure that impacted communities across Florida and the Bahamas will have the funding necessary to begin the recovery process as quickly as possible.”
Truist Foundation is also helping to ensure there is financial assistance available to Truist teammates through its One Team Fund. The Foundation is doubling its match, contributing $2 for every $1 teammates donate to the Fund, now through Dec. 1. The One Team Fund provides financial assistance to help teammates through unexpected hardship, such as natural disasters like Tropical Storm Nicole.
