Clifton Head Start, Vincent Settlement, College Oaks, Kaufman and Brentwood Elementary schools. The pre-k through first-grade students took a break from the classroom to visit with Bess the Book Bus and take home their very own books to read with their families.

CITGO Lake Charles Refinery employees assisted in the distribution of free books to pre-kindergarten, kindergarten and first grade students, as well as to other young residents of the area, as part of Bess the Book Bus’ nationwide tour this year.

LEMONT, Ill., October 24, 2016 /3BL Media/ – During the month of September, Bess the Book Bus, Inc., sponsored by the CITGO Lemont Refinery, visited local students at the Bernard Ward Elementary School in Bolingbrook and the Irene King Elementary School in Romeoville to spread the joy of reading. During the visits, Bess the Book Bus founder Jennifer Frances read books to students who then visited the bus to pick out a free book to take home. Approximately 391 books were distributed.
Mobile literacy program visited seven schools in the Houston area to kick off tour

From March through May, local radio station Hot 101.5 FM morning show hosts Miguel and Holly are visiting five local public schools to conduct read-alouds and activities with the students, while long-time CITGO partner Bess the Book Bus provides the students with brand new, free books.
2015 tour continues with stops throughout Northern and Eastern United States
HOUSTON, Aug. 25, 2015 /3BL Media/ – Continuing efforts to bring free books and a love of reading to children in underserved communities, CITGO Petroleum Corporation joined mobile literacy program Bess the Book Bus in kicking off the next leg of its 2015 national tour on August 24 in Greensboro, North Carolina. Since January, Bess the Book Bus has distributed more than 29,000 free books to 21,000 children – and is well on the way to reaching its goal of distributing 100,000 books to 25,000 children across more than 30 states this year alone.
Miss Tennessee Hayley Lewis joins CITGO to show support for local good works programs
