2018 Michael Weiner Scholarship for Labor Studies Application Now Available
NEW YORK, September 6, 2017 /3BL Media/ - The Major League Baseball Players Trust today announced that the 2018 Michael Weiner Scholarship for Labor Studies application is now available for submission through Monday, November 13, 2017.
Carnival Foundation, in partnership with the Miami HEAT and Florida Prepaid College Foundation, presented 17 South Florida students with four-year college scholarships during halftime of the HEAT game on March 19, 2017.

New York, February 23, 2017 /3BL Media/ - When Major League Baseball Players lost their beloved union leader, Michael Weiner, to brain cancer in November 2013, they turned to their collective charitable arm, the Players Trust, to find a way to honor his life’s passion for helping others. By mid-2014, during that season’s All-Star Game in Minnesota, the Players announced the creation of the Michael Weiner Scholarship for Labor Studies.
Friends and family often tell me that I have a pretty great job. I get to promote Wendy’s® latest menu offerings (read: hamburgers, Frosty® desserts, salads and fries), I contribute to brand-building awareness activities, and I feel fortunate to be given a platform to give back by participating in events that raise money and awareness for children in foster care.
So, yes…I agree…I have a pretty great job.
But there’s one project that I work on at Wendy’s that I’m particularly passionate about, and that’s Wendy’s High School Heisman®.
Ana-Lizet is a painter who plans to major in bioengineering. Joe is majoring in public health, and Joseph is studying aerospace engineering. There’s also Tyler, an agricultural ambassador and Sonora, a mathematics major and beekeeper.
All talented and all headed off to school with support from Clorox scholarships and Clorox people.
Over the past 20-plus years, Clorox has helped provide scholarships to hundreds of students like these.
