Global power leader Cummins is working on three projects that use hydrogen production as a means to store renewable energy, a key issue for proponents of wind, solar and other low-carbon renewable energy sources.

Using renewable sources such as wind to produce hydrogen emits no greenhouse gases. Wind energy can be converted into hydrogen using an electrolyzer and utilized in several ways – from fuel-cell hydrogen trucks, buses and trains, to ships powered by liquid ammonia made from hydrogen, to a substitute for natural gas for heating homes.

Cummins Hosts Mobile on-Site COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics at U.S. Facilities


When Cummins Inc. announced they were offering free COVID-19 vaccines for employees, contingent workers, and their dependents; reservations began to immediately fill up. 

Cummins began vaccinating its workforce and their dependents on April 1, in Columbus, Indiana. The company partnered with the state’s health department and local health care provider, Premise Health to ensure there was enough vaccine and medical professionals to handle the demand. 

Cummins Joins Group Advocating for Climate Action


Cummins is celebrating Earth Week by joining the CEO Climate Dialogue, a group of 22 companies and four leading environmental groups committed to advocating for climate action in the U.S. Congress.

The group is calling for aggressive steps to address the country’s climate-related challenges, including an economy-wide price on carbon to use the power of the market to help achieve the country’s carbon reduction goals in a “simple, coherent and efficient manner.”

Cummins Progressing on New Fuel Cell Assembly Facility in Germany

Cummins is getting closer to the opening a new plant in Herten, Germany, this year that will initially focus on the assembly of fuel cell systems for a low-carbon economy.

The facility will eventually expand to also support fuel cell stack refurbishment and includes space for research and development.
