As one of the world’s most inclusive brands, Coca-Cola values and celebrates diversity. That’s why, today, we are supporting The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) in their efforts to promote Spirit Day – a day where millions of people “go purple” to show their support for LGBT youth. Spirit Day began in 2010 as a way to show support for LGBT youth and encourages people to take a stand against bullying.
When your mission is to protect the world’s information there shouldn’t be categories of content that don’t receive equal treatment. And more importantly, when your company’s values clearly state a policy of diversity and inclusion there is no excuse for offering products that don’t align with those goals.
At a panel discussion on the Fox Studios Lot in Los Angeles last week, Fox talent and executives came together with senior leadership from GLAAD for a candid conversation about the representations of the LGBT community in the media. The panel was organized by GLAAD and FOX Audience Strategy, a cross-divisional group promoting diverse voices throughout 21st Century Fox entertainment businesses.
