AEG’s LA Galaxy, in partnership with TUDN, the sports programming division of Univision, and the City of Torrance will collaborate to modernize a highly utilized sports and recreational facility at Charles H. Wilson Park in Torrance, CA. The newly renovated sports facility will allow futsal soccer to be added to the current multi-sport programming offered by the City of Torrance Community Service Department.

As we mark World Environment Day on June 5, 2022, we need to reflect on what we all stand to lose by the impact of climate change on our food systems are. Since the 1990s, the number of extreme weather-related disasters has doubled. Over the same period, food harvests have decreased, and prices have risen. With global food supplies under threat, the climate crisis is fueling a hunger crisis around the world.
Led by LA Kings mascot, Bailey, and LA Galaxy Mascot, Cozmo, more than 100 AEG, LA Kings and LA Galaxy staff members marched in LA Pride 2022 on Saturday, June 12, in Los Angeles, CA.
The nation’s second largest Pride parade, returned after a two-year hiatus, and for the first time in more than 50 years was centered in Hollywood, instead of West Hollywood, where the parade had become a regular occurrence.

AEG’s LA Galaxy hosted Pride Night on May 29 when the club played Austin FC at Dignity Health Sports Park.
Prior to kickoff, the team warmed up in adidas rainbow colored Pride warm-up tops, which were auctioned off through the LA Galaxy Foundation. The National Anthem was performed by Sam Tsui and Casey Breves, avid supporters of the Los Angeles LGBT Center, one of the largest providers of programs and services for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in Los Angeles.

In support of Major League Soccer’s (MLS) 5th Annual Greener Goals Week of Service to celebrate Earth Day, AEG’s LA Galaxy partnered with Garden School Foundation to donate and distribute more than 300 bags of produce to Leapwood Avenue Elementary School’s students, staff, and families in Carson, CA. The Garden School Foundation provides in-depth garden-based education to youth at Title I schools in Los Angeles, strengthening connections between food justice, environmental stewardship, and community health.
On April 7, the LA Galaxy made a wish come true for Chance, a 17-year-old teenager from Granada Hills, who was able to attend the LA Galaxy’s first team training session at Dignity Health Sports Park. Chance who is bravely battling epilepsy, received a once-in-a-lifetime surprise through the club’s partnership with Make-A-Wish.
Chance’s wish to attend an LA Galaxy training session was granted, giving him an opportunity to watch a Galaxy training session up close, meet all his favorite players and coaching staff and have a private tour of the sports complex.
Julian Araujo, a soccer player for AEG’s LA Galaxy, received the Mayor’s Community Athlete of the Year Award from the LA Sports Council at the The 17th Annual LA Sports Awards, which celebrates the best in sports in greater Los Angeles. Araujo received the award for his outstanding work in the community.
In honor of Women’s History Month, soccer players’ wives, girlfriends, and mothers from AEG’s LA Galaxy, along with the team mascot, Cozmo, visited the Women’s Shelter of Long Beach and prepared more than 50 gift bags filled with a variety of cosmetic and self-care products including makeup, body lotion, shampoo, hair conditioner, body wash, tooth paste and mouth wash. The goal was simple, to empower women at the shelter and make sure no one goes without basic needs.
LA Galaxy kicked off its inaugural preseason invitational on Feb. 10 vs. Seattle Sounders FC at the Empire Polo Club; Event to run through Feb. 19 and features D.C. United, LA Galaxy II, Los Angeles Football Club and New York Red Bulls.

AEG’s LA Galaxy recently welcomed 30 high school student athletes from Coachella Valley Unified School District’s Migrant Program to be a part of the club’s official kick-off to its inaugural LA Galaxy Coachella Valley Invitational at Empire Polo Club in Indio, Calif. on Feb. 10.
The students were greeted by LA Galaxy President Chris Klein and heard remarks from LA Galaxy Head Coach Greg Vanney from the sidelines of the pitch prior to the scrimmage between LA Galaxy vs. Seattle Sounders FC.
