Employees in Legg Mason’s Baltimore headquarters recently enjoyed a unique educational and cultural celebration of Black History Month featuring a performance by local artists.

In their theatrical reading from New York Times Best Seller “The Warmth of Other Suns, The Epic Story of America’s Great Migration,” by Isabel Wilkerson, three cast members from Baltimore Center Stage treated the audience to a performance that was authentic, emotional and, at times, playful.

Legg Mason is pleased to announce the hiring of Regina Curry as Chief Diversity Officer.

Regina joins Legg Mason after serving as Senior Director of Global Diversity & Inclusion at McCormick & Company where she successfully developed and implemented a multi-year global diversity and inclusion strategy, and established a firm-wide metrics framework to drive accountability.

Regina’s hiring is the latest in a series of actions aimed at advancing and enhancing diversity and inclusion initiatives across Legg Mason.

Legg Mason Named One of America’s 100 JUST Companies

Among the many issues deemed as most important by Americans, Legg Mason outperformed its peers on worker pay and treatment, job creation, healthy products and communities, environmental impact, and more.

Legg Mason has once again been named to the list of America’s 100 Most JUST Companies – the JUST 100 – an annual ranking by JUST Capital and Forbes of how the largest publicly-traded companies in America perform on issues Americans care most about.

Legg Mason was ranked 73rd overall out of 875 companies and 3rd among 30 Capital Markets companies in the 2017 JUST 100. (Legg Mason ranked #1 in the same category in 2016.)

Legg Mason Expands Parental Leave Policy


Legg Mason has announced that it will offer US employees 12 weeks of parental leave to both men and women, effective January 1, 2018.

Expanding this benefit is consistent with Legg Mason’s efforts to improve diversity and inclusion across the company by treating all new parents equally – both male and female.  All new parents with at least one year of service qualify for the benefit.

The company also announced that it will reimburse mothers who are traveling for business for expenses related to shipping breastmilk home for their children.
