Patty DiOrio, VP of US Strategy, National Grid, appeared as a speaker on a panel hosted/moderated by the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions (C2ES) to briefly discuss Climate Innovation 2050 repository, which produced three alternative scenarios for achieving an 80 percent reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2050. Funding aids remediation efforts at 683 Northland Ave., and purchase of a van for student transportation
BUFFALO, N.Y. /3BL Media/ – National Grid is a longtime supporter of developing the workforce of the future. The most recent example of these efforts is working with Northland Workforce Training Center to achieve its remediation targets at its 683 Northland Ave. headquarters and training facility.
The training center opened last year in a building located on about 35 acres in an historic manufacturing district on Buffalo’s East Side. Prior to doing so, Northland needed to redevelop the building and nearby streetscape.
With the start of summer only a few weeks away, hundreds of New York State parks that are maintained by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation will soon open too. May is National Electrical Safety Month, dedicated to safe practices in and around the home and workplace, and National Grid crews are using an opportunity to promote a special focus on outdoor electrical safety.
Girls Inc. of Worcester is one of six Girls Inc. affiliates that participates in Girls Inc. and National Grid’s innovative STEM partnership. Since 2011, National Grid has generously provided funding to support impactful STEM programming and experiences to thousands of girls in the Northeast.

SYRACUSE, N.Y., June 3, 2019 /3BL Media/ – National Grid today unveiled a new battery storage system in Pulaski, New York, that will reinforce electricity reliability for regional customers during periods of peak demand, and alleviate the need for traditional infrastructure upgrades and investments. State and local officials joined company representatives and project partner Aggreko for a ribbon-cutting event at National Grid’s East Pulaski substation.
February 1, 2019 /3BL Media/ - National Grid Foundation announces Eileen Cohen has been elected as Chairman of the Board of Directors. She replaces Al Wiltshire who retired as Chairman in December 2018 after joining the Foundation in 2008. Ms. Cohen, who also joined the board in 2008, has served as a board member and vice-chairman for National Grid Foundation.
