Once a month, Comcast employee Steven Greene gets in his car and drives two hours to have lunch with 16-year-old Micah, a student he mentors at our company’s Jacksonville, Fla. regional office. He doesn’t mind the drive, and December’s meeting was especially worth it – he got to witness Micah’s big smile when he was gifted a free iPad. “Surprises like this are what make the commitment even more special,” Steven said.

The annual ranking is calculated by analyzing actions taken by over half a billion LinkedIn users and weighs three main metrics – job applications, engagement and employee retention – at U.S. companies with over 500 employees.
We’re delighted to announce that Comcast NBCUniversal has once again been named one of the top companies in America for workforce diversity by Fortune and the Great Place to Work Institute, a global people analytics and consulting firm. Many volunteers will paint schools and community centers, clean parks and playgrounds, and sort and stock food and clothing to be shared with children and families in local communities.
In less than a month, Comcast NBCUniversal volunteers will lend a hand in support of communities around the world where we live and work during the 17th annual Comcast Cares Day on Saturday, April 21. Giving back is a value we embrace throughout the entire year, but on Comcast Cares Day we leverage our relationship with hundreds of partners large and small, to make change happen and broaden our reach. Last year alone, more than 100,000 employees participated in events in more than 20 different countries.

The Arbor Day Foundation is partnering with NBCUniversal for the ninth annual "Green Is Universal" holiday campaign. NBCUniversal will support tree-planting efforts to promote recovery in disaster-stricken areas brought on by the 2017 hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria. As part of the partnership, NBCUniversal has committed to placing 25,000 trees in the hands of homeowners in the affected areas.
