Imagine your local firefighters showing up to an emergency in the family minivan, sports car or farm truck.

In Readsboro, a small town of close to 800 people in Vermont, this is a reality.

As emergency calls come in, dedicated volunteer firefighters respond to potentially life or death incidents, such as brush fires, severe weather incidents and medical calls, in their private vehicles, as there is no available emergency response vehicle.

Major Leaguers and New Englanders Matt Barnes (CT), Chris Iannetta (RI) and Ryan O’Rourke (MA) joined Action Team Captains from Brunswick High School, Thornton Academy and York High School in Maine and Attleboro High School in Massachusetts to build a home for a local veteran and his young family. The Major Leaguers and Action Teams helped the South East New Hampshire Habitat for Humanity with the project, which is expected to be completed by June 2016.

Inventory for Good: Timberland Sample Sales Benefit Local Community


Periodically, Timberland sells sample products to employees to help clear inventory from the past season. While any leftover product is always donated to a good cause, the sales provide double the benefit: product used, and a way to raise funds for non-profit organizations.

Timberland’s Giving Tree Brightens New Hampshire’s Holiday Season


On November 5, Timberland had their second annual “Craftstock” event, where twenty-five Timberland employees used their service hours to make no-sew pillows and blankets to donate to those in need. This year, the employees also made 125 gift tags for the company’s giving tree, which was set up in the Stratham, New Hampshire office in early December. Employees could choose a tag to purchase a holiday gift for people in need supported by the following local organizations:
