The Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association (ARMA) has completed its annual Accident Prevention Contest, recognizing dozens of asphalt roofing manufacturer facilities for their workplace safety.

Owens Corning is proud to announce that its Kearny shingles plant team earned the ARMA President’s Award, which goes to the plant in each contest category with the best score over a two-year period. We also celebrate the additional Roofing plants that have been recognized for their commitment to safety.

In my 38+ years, 5 CEOs, and 14 different roles within Owens Corning, I have done a lot, seen a lot, had successes and failures, and worked with thousands of amazing people around the world. As I prepare to launch my next life-chapter, I’ve reflected on much of this.

From large-scale enterprises to smaller on-site campaigns, Owens Corning sites around the world are taking steps to contribute to the overall circular economy and achieve our sustainability goals. The following examples demonstrate our commitment and serve to inspire us at every level.

One essential component of the circular economy involves the establishment of take-back models, in which manufacturers accept responsibility for downstream waste from customers using their products. For Owens Corning, this can include waste generated during construction, subsequent fabrication, or installation, as well as protective packaging.
