As a critical part of our approach to combating climate change, Owens Corning is working to transform our operations to a circular economy model, one in which virgin raw materials, waste, energy and emissions are minimized through intelligent design, renewable and recycled input, energy-efficient production, and enabling the recycling of products at the end of their life cycles. Here’s how we’re thinking about it.
U.S. Air Force veteran Jackson Henderson became an electrical maintenance technician at Owens Corning after 12 weeks of training at Rockwell Automation’s Academy of Advanced Manufacturing (AAM) program.
Owens Corning has debuted at #16 on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) National Top 100 List of the largest green power users from the Green Power Partnership. The company is also #11 on the list of Green Power Partners from the Fortune 500®.
Owens Corning has been ranked #15 on the list overall, and earned the #1 spot for the Building Materials Industry Group.
The ranking is based on publicly-disclosed data that covers 24 key performance indicators. These KPIs touch on significant aspects of corporate ESG results, including resource management, employee management, financial management, clean revenue & clean investment, and supplier performance.
Reducing the negative impacts of our operations is critical, but it is not enough. With the company’s purpose – our people and products make the world a better place – in mind, we define sustainability as meeting the needs of the present while leaving the world a better place for the future.
Net-positive means more than working for a healthy planet. Our aspiration also drives our work to support healthy people and thriving communities. We recognize that with growth comes responsibility, and as a global company, we are positioned to be a force for good for the people who are touched by our company.

As a global manufacturer, we know the way we conduct our operations makes a difference. To be a net-positive company, our handprint (the positive impacts of our people and products) must be larger than our footprint (the negative impacts). We’re proud of the progress we’ve made in shrinking the negative impact of our operations, but there’s much more to do.
