As production began on the upcoming fifth season of “Empire,” FOX’s Golden Globe-nominated drama series following the Lyon family’s exploits in the hip-hop industry, the show welcomed some new additions to its crew behind the scenes. A group of interns from the CineCares Foundation, a Chicago nonprofit providing education initiatives, joined colleagues in the Props, Wardrobe, Electric, Construction and other departments for the first 12 weeks of the shoot.

Nearly 200 New York City high school students gathered at the Paley Center for Media on December 10 to celebrate Hidden Figures, the highly anticipated feature from 20th Century Fox revealing the untold story of three African American women who played major roles in the Space Race of the 1960s. The students were treated to an exclusive advance screening of the film and heard from members of the cast and crew, as well as female leaders in STEM fields, during a panel discussion about why it's critical that stories like these are told.
FOX was well-represented at the 47th NAACP Image Awards on February 5, which celebrated the year in “outstanding achievements and performances of people of color in the arts, as well as those individuals or groups who promote social justice through their creative endeavors,” according to the NAACP’s website.
