The Home Depot has been recognized as a global leader on corporate climate action for efforts to reduce its environmental impact and build a more sustainable future for consumers. CDP, an environmental impact non-profit, ranked The Home Depot 2021 Climate Change score as an A- for its actions to cut carbon emissions and reduce climate risks. This marks the fourth consecutive year that the company has received an A/A- rating for its climate change efforts, while The North America regional average is a C.

Nearly 350 million Christmas trees currently grow on U.S. farms, according to the National Christmas Tree Association. Throughout the trees’ typical lifespan of eight to 12 years, it absorbs carbon dioxide, emits fresh oxygen, stabilizes soil, protects water supplies, and provides refuge for wildlife.

After a Christmas tree is cut down, one to three seedlings are planted in its place. When people purchase them, they also support local economies. That environmental stewardship continues when trees are recycled.

The Home Depot has enhanced its military discount benefit to include all U.S. veterans, active service members and spouses every day, reaffirming the company’s commitment to serving the U.S. military community nationwide.

The Home Depot Foundation, Home Builders Institute and Habitat for Humanity International came together on Thursday, Dec. 16, to spread some holiday cheer.
