The world's largest 3-on-3 basketball tournament was recently also the launch site for an innovative fund-raising campaign. Volunteers in Spokane, Wash., wore pink overalls and carried signs saying, “See what $5 can do.” They are part of the campaign to raise $50,000 in support of the Avista Center for Entrepreneurship at Spokane Community College. The signs directed viewers to the Crowdswell platform for more information and to make a donation.
Twitter is a wonderfully accessible and democratising platform that lends itself perfectly to engaging in CSR and Sustainability stakeholder conversations. The audience of available agenda related professionals, brands, NGOs and enthusiasts is breath-taking in scope and also accessibility.
In the coming weeks we’ll be featuring some of the initiatives and products highlighted in the Huntsman 2012 Sustainability Report. Our approach to sustainability reaches beyond our organization and our efforts impact many lives and places. We titled our 2012 sustainability report “Conversations About Sustainability” to reflect our commitment to meaningful stakeholder engagement. We believe that sustainability, like a good conversation, evolves to meet the needs and concerns of all involved.
