A new Wells Fargo video series celebrates the triumph of the human spirit over adversity and spotlights individuals who are working to make their communities better every day.

Lavonna McKoy felt like her life couldn’t get any bleaker. A year earlier she’d lost her health care job due to a work-related knee injury, and now she was homeless in Atlanta, Georgia, and barely able to walk.

“I’m at my worst point and thought, ‘Nothing can be worse than this,’” she remembered.

St. Joseph, MI - Dozens of new boats launched in the St. Joseph River Thursday. It's part of the 2nd annual "Rock the Boat" event in St. Joe. 

Some of the boats were made of duct tape and cardboard. Around 29 boats competed in the race. Many of them were teams from Whirlpool.

BENTON HARBOR — Over the next two days, 15 bikers will ride 240 miles from Benton Harbor to Clyde, Ohio.

The intention is to raise money for the two United Way organizations prevalent in each city. While some of the bikers work in Ohio and others work in Benton Harbor, they all come from the same home appliance maker.

PEORIA, Ill., December 6, 2016 /3BL Media/ – Caterpillar Inc. (NYSE: CAT) employees and retirees together with the Caterpillar Foundation have pledged more than $11.5 million to United Way agencies across the United States as part of its 2016-2017 campaign.  This amount includes a dollar-for-dollar matching grant from the Caterpillar Foundation. The United Way has been Caterpillar’s only annual solicitation for funds to its employees and retirees for more than 60 years.
