In 2015, corporations bought roughly 3.2 gigawatts (GW) of electricity from utility-scale renewable energy facilities, which generate power from sources like wind and solar and then pump it into the grid to supply energy to utilities and other customers. October 14, 2015 /3BL Media/ - The World Environment Center (WEC) announced today the successful completion of a U.S. Department of State funded project to expand the sustainable development commitments of Moroccan businesses by Improving operating costs, reducing materials, energy and water consumptions, and minimizing solid waste, wastewater and e air emissions. WEC has partnered with the Casablanca-based firm RIO (Reduce-Invent-Optimize) to implement the local activities and provide advanced technical expertise for the project.
Admission into the Amgen Scholars Program has become increasingly competitive, attracting talented undergraduates from all over the globe. Now in its ninth year, the Program continues to grow in its visibility and prestige.
In the fall of 2014, the Fox TV Stations debuted Xploration Station, a two-hour block of STEM-focused programming consisting of four new shows. One of those shows, Xploration Outer Space, has partnered with the nonprofit Project PoSSUM to launch the #StudentAstronaut Contest, a competition giving one high school or college student the chance to take part in a special 5-day scientist-astronaut training program.
In 2008, FOX Sports launched FOX Sports University, an academic program that gives college students hands-on experience in the sports business. Participating students work closely with FOX Sports executives on a project in sports management, business, or journalism. The current academic year is the largest yet for the program, which now offers courses at 28 schools across the U.S.
