Program promoting a healthy lifestyle funded through a Verizon Foundation grant
SAN FRANCISCO, Cailf., March 26, 2013 /3BL Media/ - Seniors will learn how to stay healthy and active to reduce the risk factors that contribute to heart disease, depression, high blood pressure, and diabetes through a new chronic disease self-management program offered by Self-Help for the Elderly, supported by a grant from the Verizon Foundation.
The $50,000 grant will help seniors better manage their chronic conditions and stay independent with educational training and by utilizing technology.

Carolina Panthers coach Ron Rivera has a simple directive for his players starting on day one: "Be a man."
Rivera has certainly earned his "man card." He was the son of an Army officer and played linebacker for Mike Ditka on the 1985 Chicago Bears as part of Buddy Ryan's ferocious "46" defense. He returned to the Super Bowl with the Bears as defensive coordinator in February 2007 and has been coaching the Panthers since 2011.
