As the world continues to respond to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Caspar Herzberg, CEO of Schneider Electric for the Middle East & Africa, says that the best response to the crisis is to stay calm, make efforts to understand the situation, and playout and prepare for different scenarios.

Herzberg is recognized as a global thought leader for smart cities, digital transformation, and IoT, having published his book on the topic, Smart Cities, Digital Nations: Building Smart Cities in Emerging Countries and Beyond, in 2017. He currently manages Schneider’s operations in 80 countries, overseeing more than 15,000 employees.

In a Leaders’ Insights interview with Forbes Middle East, Caspar shared his coping mechanisms, and the challenges that he sees have impacted his workforce, as well as what he believes the effects have been on sustainability and green development projects.
