FedEx Helps with Preparations and Delivery of Baskets for Hundreds of Hospitalized Children

In the midst of Super Bowl XLVII weekend excitement in New Orleans, FedEx volunteers joined a group of nearly 100 volunteers, along with some of the New Orleans Saints players, at De Salle High School in support of the 2nd Annual Super Basket of Hope to help fill 250 baskets and totes with gifts for hospitalized children and their parents. This event was hosted by Basket of Hope, created in 1995, that provides gift baskets and hope totes to children diagnosed with cancer or other serious illnesses. This year, the organization will deliver gift-filled baskets and totes to children and their families at over 18 hospitals across the nation.
“We are so excited to be part of this opportunity to expand our program to NFL cities and beyond during the weeks surrounding the Super Bowl,” said Angela Brunette, founder of Basket of Hope. “We have seen firsthand the impact the personal visits, baskets and hope totes have made on seriously ill children and their families.”
In March, Basket of Hope will host another volunteer event in St. Louis to help fill more gift filled baskets that will be delivered to various hospitals in the coming weeks by FedEx.
