JetBlue Invites The Public To Check In Their Causes Of Choice
(3BL Media/Justmeans) – JetBlue has found a creative way to promote kindness amongst its customers. The airline is currently promoting its JetBlue for Good Month initiative by inviting customers to check in at pop-up kiosks as well as online. This way, compassionate - and lucky - participants can get a free volunteer trip with JetBlue.
JetBlue has installed mock check-in kiosks in New York City and Los Angeles. The kiosks will stay up until November 9. Called Check In For Good (#CheckInForGood), the project enables participants to fill out a short questionnaire imitating a real check-in and declare what “good” they have. This can be done not only at the kiosks but also online.
Depending on their answer, entrants will be matched to one of the three pillar causes JetBlue supports: youth and education, community, and the environment. Then, they will be placed on “standby” and hopefully win a seat on one of the volunteer trips departing around Giving Tuesday (#GivingTuesday), the international day of giving that kicks off the holiday season.
One program that will benefit is the Atlantis Blue Project Foundation in the Bahamas. It works to safeguard some of the world’s largest coral reefs and protect shorelines and beaches. Volunteers on this trip will help with the nursery project on Paradise Island as well as harvesting and out-planting coral.
Other programs include a literacy initiative in Houston and the Sandals Foundation work with local communities in eight Caribbean islands.
“Service is part of our DNA at JetBlue. We created JetBlue For Good Month to celebrate all the ways we give back year-round - and this year we’re thrilled to bring our customers on board too,” said Icema Gibbs, JetBlue’s director corporate social responsibility. “Like JetBlue, our customers value kindness and humanity.”
The first 2,000 entrants who #CheckInForGood will receive donation codes they can use in benefit of a charity of their choice. Winners from the “standby” list will be notified of their eligibility on a rolling basis through November 20, 2017.
