Sands China Academy Celebrates Internship Program Graduation

In May, Sands China Academy hosted a graduation ceremony for the 111 Macao university students who completed Sands China’s Integrated Resort Internship Program.  Sands China celebrated the students’ achievements and three graduates were presented with an “Impressive Performance Award” with a limited-edition souvenir by their department heads as a token of recognition for their exceptional performance.

Girls Power Tech (GPT) was an amazing experience this year. Through our sites around the world and unwavering support of our global executive sponsors, Kelly Kramer & Ruba Borno, a global team worked together to inspire the next generation of innovators, taking science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) to the next level.

This year’s Girls Power Tech featured 90 Cisco offices in 50 countries across the world hosting nearly 6,000 students, 1,689 volunteers, and more than 15,000 mentoring hours! The impact continues to grow.

I started working at Namdeb in 2012 as a job attachment. In 2013, I began in a developmental position as an Environmental Officer and was permanently employed as a Senior Environmental Officer for Exploration and Strategic Projects in 2014. I moved over as a Senior Environmental Officer to Namdeb’s biggest operational mine, Southern Coastal Mines, in 2016 where I am still based.

In late 2015, we reassessed our priority sustainability issues based on Lockheed Martin’s evolving business portfolio and highly dynamic environment. Beginning in 2016, we focus on five core sustainability issues made up of 23 factors. Our sustainability factors have two tiers of priorities: Tier 1 performance factors where we seek to accelerate progress by setting targets for 2017 and 2020; and Tier 2 factors that we will advance through continued management and disclosure, without setting new SMP goals.
