NEW YORK, April 13, 2017 /3BL Media/ - On Thursday, April 6, Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO) raised $4.93 million at the SEO Annual Awards Dinner. The marquee event saw nearly 1,000 guests at the American Museum of Natural History, and honored three outstanding leaders in business and philanthropy: Joe Plumeri; Robert F. Smith; and Cesar Conde.
The Women LEAD scholarship program is something close to my heart. Serving as a Junior League member on the Women LEAD project committee this year, I had the opportunity to work closely on this transformational program. Through the year, I gained admiration for the enthusiasm and passion demonstrated by students who have overcome unspeakable adversity, as they shared their dreams of attending colleges like Texas A&M, UNT and my alma-mater, UT Austin. The girls were giddy as they shared what careers they wanted to pursue, from medicine and engineering to law and more.
For several years, Las Vegas Sands has partnered with Cornell University by sponsoring their award winning, internationally recognized Sustainable Global Enterprise (SGE) Immersion program, designed for graduate students attending the university. Launched in 2006, the program has been training a new generation of leaders to develop competitive, profitable business opportunities grounded in innovative products and services that address social and environmental issues.
In celebration of the Doritos Locos Tacos’ 5-year anniversary, Taco Bell has launched its first Feed a Dream promotion, which will help students follow their dreams.
For every Doritos Locos Taco bought à la carte, Taco Bell will donate 10 cents to the Taco Bell Foundation’s Live Mas Scholarship. The promotion started March 23 and will end April 8, and the brand plans to donate $500,000 to the scholarship through this campaign. By buying a taco, customers can help future Live Mas Scholars feed their dreams.
