At our global headquarters, Whirlpool Corporation is a proud sponsor of FIRST® Robotics, providing local teams with challenge grants, materials and supplies, including Gladiator® GarageWorks tool chests. Our employees also spend thousands of volunteer hours coaching and mentoring high school youth to encourage their interest in science, technology, engineering and math, as well as careers in manufacturing. In 2015, three area teams competed in the World FIRST Robotics Competition.

Keep Riverside Clean & Beautiful Conducts Major Fall Cleanup Events


Over 300 Keep Riverside Clean & Beautiful (KRCB) volunteers participated in the City of Riverside, California’s Festival of Lights on Nov. 25. The volunteers passed out programs, picked up litter, monitored the event barricades, and worked as a team to make the festival a clean and green event.

“If that's not LOVE of community, I don't know what is!” exclaimed KRCB Executive Director Connie Librenjak.

Service Dogs in Training Visit Harrisburg International Airport

Fifty of our service dogs in training now know how to fly on a plane! 
On December 3, we took our puppies in training to Harrisburg International Airport for a training outing. After parking in long-term parking, the dogs and their raisers took the shuttle to the terminal. Once in the terminal, the dogs practiced loose leash walking around the other travelers, as well as taking elevators and stairs.

Growing up on a thousand-acre family farm in rural Michigan, Wendy Srnic loved “getting her hands dirty” gardening and raising livestock — in the case of her family — cattle.  Today, she is the research director of Integrated Product Characterization & Development at DuPont Pioneer and is the leader of a team of 350 employees spanning four countries that is responsible for a key step in the DuPont Pioneer pipeline for getting new hybrids and varieties of corn, soybeans and other crops to market.  She also was selected as the DuPont U.S.

Now in its 17th year, RecycleMania pits colleges and universities against one another to see which will claim the championship in the fight to reduce, reuse, recycle and compost the most on campus. The 2017 RecycleMania competition, managed by national nonprofit Keep America Beautiful, will kick off on Feb.
