Lockheed Martin Releases 2018 Global Diversity and Inclusion Report

BETHESDA, Md., July 10, 2019 /3BL Media/ -- Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT], ranked among the ‘50 Best Companies for Diversity’ by Black Enterprise magazine in 2018, is releasing its 2018 Annual Report on Global Diversity and Inclusion. 

The 36-page report outlines Lockheed Martin’s current workforce statistics as well as employee testimonials on its ever-evolving advancements in creating an inclusive work environment for the company’s 105,000 employees around the world. 

“We are energized, not only by the progress we made in 2018, but by the innovative efforts we have underway to sustain this momentum and catapult both our organization and the communities in which we operate to new heights,” said Rainia Washington, Lockheed Martin’s vice president of Global Diversity & Inclusion. 

The annual report is a display of the magnitude of diversity and inclusion that exists at Lockheed Martin. Here are a few highlights: 

  • 1 in 5 employees is a veteran

  • 21% of leaders are women

  • 41% of the workforce is millennial

  • 9% of leaders are people with a disability

  • 26% of the workforce is comprised of people of color 

The report also highlights Lockheed Martin’s accomplishment in cultivating a diverse and inclusive workplace:

-100% ranking on the Disability Equality Index: Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion

-Named to the “Forbes Best Employers for Diversity" list 

-Included on the “Top 50 STEM Workplaces” by the American Indian Science and Engineering Society

-In 2018, Lockheed Martin was named the US Black Engineer and Information Technology (USBE) top supporter for HBCUs, a position that LM has held for the last 5 years.

-Lockheed Martin has maintained a perfect score of 100% for the last 5 years on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index.
