(3BL Media / theCSRfeed) NEW YORK CITY—FRIDAY, APRIL 8, 2011—Recyclebank®, the company that rewards people for taking everyday green actions with discounts and deals from more than 3,000 local and national businesses, today announced that vice president of engineering Viktor Andonov has been promoted to chief technology officer, effective immediately. In his new role, Andonov will oversee all aspects of Recyclebank’s technology infrastructure and lead the company’s newly expanded technology team.

“Viktor has proven himself as an integral leader at the company, managing a team of more than 45 engineers to support the initial evolution of Recyclebank’s business model to motivate consumers both offline and online,” said Jonathan Hsu, CEO of Recyclebank. “Thanks to our corporate partner network and the new digital ways we are adding to motivate green actions, we are rapidly building a highly motivated community of eco-engaged consumers. With Viktor’s promotion, we have the technical team in place to support this continued innovation and growth.”   Andonov’s promotion follows the company making a number of recent significant enhancements to Recyclebank’s digital experience. On April 1, Recyclebank launched the Green Your Home Challenge at http://greenyourhome.recyclebank.com, a nationwide contest to educate, motivate and inspire people to live a more eco-friendly lifestyle. The Challenge, which runs until April 30, features green living tips and challenges that offer opportunities to earn reward points for greening a home, room-by-room. In March, the company released updates to its iPhone application, making it easier for members to manage their accounts, earn points, and view and redeem rewards on the fly. In February, the company significantly improved the online member experience at Recyclebank.com. This included launching new ways for members to earn points for everyday green actions, local search capabilities, and enhanced social media integration, allowing members to easily share Recyclebank content with friends.   Andonov joined Recyclebank in January 2010 and has since been instrumental in a number of strategic initiatives at the company, including reducing costs and increasing productivity across the technology department, improving data analytics and reporting capabilities, and developing technologies to support gaming mechanics. Prior to Recyclebank, Andonov served as the senior software development manager at Gerson Lehrman Group and vice president of software development at Tutor.com. He also held various technical positions at Visual Trading Systems, Bowne and Information Builders. His cross-industry experience includes spearheading multiple initiatives in knowledge logistics, online education, financial services, B2B Internet transaction processing, database systems, real-time process control, and mission critical applications in space research.   ABOUT RECYCLEBANK Recyclebank helps create a more sustainable future by rewarding people for taking everyday green actions with discounts and deals from more than 3,000 local and national businesses.
