Suppliers Key to Supporting AT&T Sustainability Efforts Honored with 2013 Supplier Sustainability Awards

Dallas, TX, February 10, 2014 /3BL Media/ - Suppliers can play an important role in helping companies achieve their corporate sustainability goals. AT&T honored six such of its suppliers at the third annual Supplier Sustainability Awards luncheon today. Recipients exemplified extraordinary efforts in promoting sustainability achievements over the course of 2013 in the areas of alternative energy, energy efficiency, process improvement, the environment and packaging.

 “The suppliers honored with the AT&T Supplier Sustainability Award help make AT&T’s sustainability programs possible with their innovative technologies and expertise,” said Tim Harden, president of AT&T Supply Chain and Fleet Operations. “We’re very pleased to recognize their contributions to sustainability at AT&T and around the country.”

Bloom Energy, a fuel cells technology company, was recognized in the alternative energy category while Hitachi Consulting was recognized for energy efficiency. Cass Information, which specializes in information services for logistics, distribution, and transportation, was recognized for process improvement.  BSR was recognized in the environment category for its contribution to AT&T’s Eco-Rating system; and Precision Container & GENCO were recognized for their coordinated improvements to the DSL packaging.

The annual Supplier Sustainability Awards illustrate the continued ongoing efforts of AT&T’s collaborative work in resource efficiency and emissions reduction, which are described in the AT&T 2012 Sustainability Report.
