There are many ways that PayPal supports good causes, from enabling nonprofits to raise money using online tools to powering corporate initiatives that encourage their customers to do the same. In 2018, 55.1 million people from over 200 markets contributed $9.6 billion to more than 665,000 charitable organizations via PayPal.

PayPal's recent Global Impact  report revealed that although individual giving in the U.S. is down as a whole, individual giving on the PayPal platform continues to increase with individuals making smaller but more frequent charitable gifts.

One particularly powerful partnership that meets the $1 billion threshold: PayPal has partnered with Kiva (a nonprofit that grants micro loans around the globe) to process all loans to entrepreneurs for free so that 100% of every dollar lent funds loans. Their decade-long partnership has enabled over $1.3+ billion in loans to more than 3 million entrepreneurs in 86 countries.
